                   	ORDINANCE NO. 9463
                  
                  
                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING A PORTION
                   OF OLD HIXSON PIKE LOCATED SOUTHWEST FROM
                   HIXSON PIKE, SOUTHWEST OF VAN BUREN STREET,
                   MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned a portion of Old Hixson Pike located southwest 
from
         Hixson Pike, southwest of Van Buren Street, more particularly
         described herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made 
a
         part hereof by reference:
               
                Old Hixson Pike located southwest from Hixson Pike,
                southwest of Van Buren Street.
               
                Old Hixson Pike, a 50 foot wide unopened
                right-of-way beginning on the northwest line of
                Hixson Pike some 558 feet southwest of the
                intersection of the northwest line of Hixson Pike
                with the southwest line of Van Buren Street, thence
                southwest and southeast some 930 feet with the
                southeast and northeast line of Old Hixson Pike to
                the northeast line of an unnamed road, thence
                northwest some 90 feet to the northeast line of Old
                Hixson Pike, thence southeast and northeast some
                973 feet with the northeast and northwest line of
                Old Hixson Pike to the northwest line of an unnamed
                road, thence southwest some 112 feet to the
                northwest line of Hixson Pike, the point of
                beginning.  Said street separates lost 6-8,
                Chattanooga Estates Company, part of Mary Caldwell
                947 acre tract, not recorded, from an unplatted
                tract.
               
              SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as
         provided by law.
